Aubry Manglona Hocog

Aubry Manglona Hocog is the daughter of George and Lucy Hocog. Born on the beautiful island of Guam and raised as a Gilita from Rota. Her partner is Deron Mendiola and they share a son, Logan Hocog. Her dream became a reality when she was elected in November 2022 as the youngest and first female Mayor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) for the Municipality of Rota.
She graduated with honors from Rota High School in 2004 where she moved to Guam and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Guam in 2006. Mayor Hocog has received two (2) Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Education. She started her doctoral in Public Policy and Management from Walden University.
She was a former educator at our CNMI Public School System who taught American Government and United States History and an Adjunct Instructor at the Guam Community College and the Northern Marianas College who taught several classes. Prior to becoming Mayor, she served as the Special Assistant for Programs and Grants at the Rota Mayor’s Office under former Mayor Efraim Atalig.
Mayor Hocog served in numerous boards and commissions serving as the former Chairwoman for the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation, member of the 2nd Marianas Political Status Commission, member of the CNMI Economic Council of Advisors, board member for the Commonwealth Utilities Commission and former Chairwoman for the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority. She assisted with the creation of the Rota Chamber of Commerce serving as its Vice President and volunteered for Red Cross and other non profit organizations. Mayor Hocog has received many awards and recognitions throughout her career.
She has always been an active member of her community and wants to work with her cabinet, local and federal partners to build a better Rota. She loves her home island and wants to see it flourish so local businesses can thrive, the standard of living is affordable and where our people can return home and serve their island community for the next generation to come.
